    Air medical membership must be arranged before an accident. It does not summon a helicopter, does not guarantee a specific provider will respond, and does not replace calling 911.

    4. Confirm.

    Saving WRSP to the home screen makes it easier to find and helps it remain available for field use after loading.

    Full install/offline behavior requires WRSP to be opened from an HTTP/HTTPS address, such as GitHub Pages. The local file preview is useful for layout and workflow review, but it cannot fully test service worker caching.

    Field test checklist

    1. Open WRSP from the hosted site and confirm this page shows service worker support.
    2. Create or open a sample plan and save it locally.
    3. Use Add to Home Screen or Install app on the phone.
    4. Close the browser, turn on airplane mode, then reopen WRSP from the home screen.
    5. Confirm saved plans open, edits save, and responder view/print/share text remain available.
    6. Turn service back on and confirm maps, medical lookup, QR image generation, and feedback email work again.

    WRSP

    The Woods-Ready Safety Plan helps loggers, foresters, crew leads, trucking coordinators, and landowner representatives prepare the emergency information needed before work begins on a logging site.

    WRSP is a practical field utility: create a site safety plan, save it on this phone, reopen it offline, and share responder-ready directions, contacts, medical information, hazards, and access notes when needed.

    The app is not a substitute for training, calling 911, EMS, or local emergency procedures. It is meant to make critical site information easier to assemble and share before something goes wrong.

    Northeastern Loggers' Association

    The Woods-Ready Safety Plan is a free app brought to you by the Northeastern Loggers' Association, intended to benefit loggers and others regardless of where they are located.

    NELA is a regional trade group representing the logging, sawmilling, and forest products community across the Northeast and Lake States. Its support makes WRSP available as a free practical safety tool for the logging community.

    Inspiration

    Dana Hinckley is a pioneer in logging safety and rescue techniques. He operates Logger Rescue, LLC in Berlin, NH and is a great source of training and ideas on this topic. His suggestion of a safety plan for each site and KIWY forms (a private form with personal medical records that is shared only with emergency responders and hospital staff) for each crew member is the inspiration behind this app.
